I was at the sydney convention and heard that talk, it was given by a member of the GB. It made my stomach turn. I could see behind it all.

When they go witnessing and try to convert others, aren't they asking the householders to "listen to the voice of strangers" ??????

When family members complain that their loved ones are becoming JW's, aren't the family members telling their loved ones not to "listen to the voice of strangers" ???

What they really are saying, is "listen to noone but us"

% of JW women versus % of JW men

does anyone know the stats on this or have an idea?

in all the congregations i have seen seems like the percentage of women is always higher than the men, though it was never information the org let out to us.

also the women are the ones who are most involved in the preaching work--pioneering, etc.

The WTS drives people with Guilt, and according to 2 Tim 3:6 it easier to do with women.

It means that people get what they want from religion. From the WTS men get a sense of Power and women get Validation. But i think Aikon has a point, as far as the muslims are concerned I'm surprised that so many muslim women who are "happy" to be muslims, but as a muslim woman said, when asked about her head covering, she said she covers herself because she doesn't want MEN to think of her as a sexual object, so in a way its also Validation that she wants. (she could be fat and ugly under that cover ! ) well.. thats my bit.

Building our own JW pedophile database

we all know that the wts can a database of over 23,000 pedophiles.

it seems they will not release this database to the authorites.. amazing (amazing1914) has provided information here about the work he has been doing regarding this issue amazing is back ... the wheels of justice have turned.

he has also posted about issues regarding people who don't think their situation is serious enough or recent enough to be included by the lawyers who are working on this very important issue pm responders and all others - important.

The Watchtower is so paranoid they burn everything. I'm sure they'll just deny this List exists and burn it as well. The D/O told me that copies of the drama script that some may still have after the drama is finished, they are instructed to burn ..so it doesn't fall into the "wrong" hands. So I don't think a List like that will last long.

In official JW think, is there anyone worse than an apostate?

in official jw think, is there anyone worse than an apostate?

jws are supposed to believe that apostates are worse than serial killers, or child molesters, or even hitler, right?

it's been a while for me so i may not remember this exactly right or what i remember may now be "old light" so i'd appreciate it if anyone could provide an update on the latest jw position on this.

I've never heard of someone who was labled as an apostate coming back to the WTS. has anyone else? I suppose if someone knew the truth about the WT then how could they come back.

i have been reading the publication, "pay attention to yourself and to all the flock',

under the subject of the "proper view of disfellowshipped and disassociated persons.

unit 5 (a), it says, " the principle set forth in jesus' words, at matthew 10:34-38 has a bearing on situations involving disfellowshepped or disassociated relatives.

From my experience, every body of elders are a law within themselves, so what they decide may be different to what another body of elders will decide. Even if the edlers book say that this is the way it should be done, if you bring it out to them, all they will ask is "how did you get the book ?'. Your not suppose to know what the elders bok says.

Would a true religion have to be perfect?

When God said "I am perfect, therefore you must be perfect" he was referring to being partical, pls read the context of that verse. This verse does show some interesting points. Firstly it shows that in the area of being partical we can be perfect and it also shows that being imperfect isn't an excuse for everything.
